VibroAcoustic Sound Massage (VSM) offers a remarkable journey akin to the post-yoga class sensation, where a sense of physical and mental rejuvenation washes over you. Just as one feels after 45 minutes of intensive yoga, laying down in shavasana and sensing the body's vibrant circulation and newfound energy, VSM allows you to transcend the need for a sweaty workout and step directly into a state of bliss. This extraordinary experience captivates your attention by continually stimulating the tactile senses with soothing vibrations, momentarily silencing the chaos of the mind, and immersing you in the present moment.
Collaborating with researchers from the University of Southern Denmark, we've delved into the profound effects of VSM on both the body and the mind. Electrocardiography (ECG) measurements have revealed a shift in the nervous system towards a parasympathetic state, often associated with the "rest-and-digest" response, indicating a feeling of complete safety and relaxation. The heart rate gently slows down, while heart rate variability (HRV) increases, bringing the body closer to a state of equilibrium that feels akin to a soothing resonance. In parallel, electroencephalography (EEG) scans demonstrate an enhanced mental focus and a decrease in excitement among participants during VSM sessions. Remarkably, these effects endure, remaining evident even when measured 20 minutes after the conclusion of the VSM experience. In essence, VSM offers a profound and lasting state of relaxation, heightened mental clarity, and an overall sense of well-being, as substantiated by both physiological and cognitive assessments.
